Syncing with iOS

This guide will help you configure your iPhone or iPad to sync calendars and contacts using Davnode.

Server Settings

Before starting, ensure you have your Davnode email address and password ready. Use the following server settings during configuration:

We recommend to always use an app password for connecting calendars and contacts.

1. Add Calendar (CalDAV)

To sync your Davnode calendars with the native iOS Calendar app:
  1. Open Settings on your iOS device.
  2. Tap Mail > Accounts > Add Account.
    Note: On older iOS versions, this may be under Passwords & Accounts.
  3. Select Other at the bottom of the list.
  4. Under the Calendars section, tap Add CalDAV Account.
  5. Enter the following information:
    • Server: mail.davnode.com
    • User Name: Your full Davnode email address (e.g., [email protected]).
    • Password: Your Davnode password.
    • Description: Davnode Calendar (or a name of your choice).
  6. Tap Next in the top right corner.
  7. iOS will verify the account. Ensure Calendars is toggled ON.
    Optional: You can also toggle Reminders ON if you wish to sync tasks.
  8. Tap Save.

2. Add Contacts (CardDAV)

To sync your Davnode contacts with the native iOS Contacts app:
  1. Open Settings on your iOS device.
  2. Tap Mail > Accounts > Add Account.
  3. Select Other.
  4. Under the Contacts section, tap Add CardDAV Account.
  5. Enter the following information:
    • Server: mail.davnode.com
    • User Name: Your full Davnode email address.
    • Password: Your Davnode password.
    • Description: Davnode Contacts.
  6. Tap Next.
  7. Once verified, ensure Contacts is toggled ON.
  8. Tap Save.

Troubleshooting

Connection Verification Failed

If iOS fails to verify the account, it may ask for “Advanced Settings.” Ensure the following are correct:
  • Use SSL: ON
  • Port: 443
  • Account URL: Generally auto-detected, but ensure the base domain is mail.davnode.com.

Calendars Not Showing

If you have successfully added the account but events are not appearing:
  1. Open the Calendar app.
  2. Tap Calendars at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Ensure the checkbox next to your Davnode Calendar is ticked.
